2014-2024
Founded
Nov. 2014
We originally started as a performance group, showcasing our routines during the halftime shows of Banks Collage Basketball Association (BCBA) games under the name BCBA Dance Team.
Began Competing
April 2016
We competed in our very first competition, The Best of Both Worlds Dance & Step Competition, on April 30th, 2016.
Name Change(s)
Sept.-Nov. 2016
For a short period of time after our first competition (September-November 2016) our team was renamed to "Elite Stars." From November 2016 onwards we officially became "(Banks Collage) Elite Empire."
Switch To Majorette
May 2018
Elite Empire competed in our very first majorette dance competition in May of 2018. Around January of that year we made the switch from primarily teaching hip-hop style of dancing and choreography to band style dancing.
Grand Champions
Oct. 2019
Elite Empire won our very first Grand Champion on October 19th, 2019 at the "Beast Mode Takeover" competition in Goochland, VA.
Dance Studio
Jan. 2022
After years of practicing outside, and renting out community/studio spaces, Elite Empire finally has a place to call home! Located in the Fashion Square Mall is the Elite Empire Dance Studio!
Trailblazers
Currently
Elite Empire is a Nationally & World ranked team in the majorette genre. As of December 2024, through the Buck or Die circuit, Elite Empire is amongst the top 5 teams in the nation and #14 in the world.
